Pretty... girls?

The other day, Sarah came into our room around 6:30am, right after Jeff had left for work. She wanted to lay with me for a while. Since none of the other kids were awake yet, I told her that was fine. She fell asleep there, and when I went to get the other kids up, she was still sleeping in my bed. I got breakfast for the boys, a bottle for Audrey and changed all the diapers. Shortly thereafter, Sarah came upstairs with a bright pink bottle of nail polish she had found in my room asking if I would paint her toenails. I said, "of course" and proceeded to do so. Right as I was finishing her second foot, Lucas came to see what was going on. When Sarah was finished, Lucas climbed up on the couch and put his feet out for me to do his toes too. I painted one little toe, and put the cap back on. Then Alex came over and sat right next to his brother, pointing at his feet. So I painted one little toe on his foot, too, replaced the cap, and sat back. Since neither boy talks yet, they just grunted and pointed at the rest of their toes. It was pretty obvious they wanted the rest of them to match. So I did it. I painted my boys' toenails bright pink. I figured it's cold enough right now that they'll mostly be wearing socks anywhere it would matter. And no one will see them at home. But here I am posting the pictures online. Oh well. We'll chalk it all up to childhood! Here they are. They're all so proud of their pretty toes! Since I couldn't get a picture of all of them looking at the same time, here's the bunch I took:

Oh that is cute, my little brother did the same thing. You and Sarah will have to paint your toe nails secretly from now on. That will probably be difficult with two curious boys.

That is just so funny! I literally laughed out loud when I saw this at work! :-)

That's too funny! They all look so happy with their pink toes. Clint would have killed me. I already get in trouble when Caden carry's around a pink purse or put's on princess dress up shoes. What are you supposed to do? I guess that's what you get when the oldest is a girl right?

That is so impressive that your kiddos would sit still!

The last picture is still cracking me up! :) Little kids are so funny because it takes them a while to figure out all the "rules" about gender.

I'm also impressed that they would sit still that long!

I painted Joe's toenail pink while he was sleeping on the couch. We are definately all in the same family. It is an adorable picture. They are certainly boy enough to survive a pink toenail once in a while. We love you all!!
