Giddyup!

Sharing can be so hard... As you can see, Sarah doesn't mind "sharing" Lexie (that's the horse's name) with Alex at all. Alex, on the other hand, doesn't seem to be enjoying it quite so much. Lucas looks like he wants a turn. And after the picture was taken and Alex and Sarah were finished, he got his turn with Sarah. Sometimes they can all be just so sweet.

First Meal

Audrey's growing up! This is her first experience with a food other than formula or rice cereal (It was actually on January 22). What's on the menu? Peas. She wasn't sure what to think about it. She didn't exactly spit it out, but her face was all winced up the whole time. We'll see how it goes from here on out!

Snow...

It's snowing right now in North Ogden. We've been here since December first, and have had quite a few snowstorms since moving in, but it doesn't seem to get any less beautiful and intriguing. I just thought I should share this picture of just how beautiful snow can be. Many people may think I'm crazy or just awestruck with the newness of the weather, but I just can't imagine that I will get tired of the white stuff in the winter. I absolutely love the snow and the cold. Call me crazy, but it won't change my mind.

Out of Town

Today, Jeff left for Alabama on a business trip. Call me clingy, needy, attached...call me whatever you want. But when Jeff leaves for any amount of time, short or long, I REALLY MISS HIM! I don't know how any of you military wives, or even the wives I know with husbands in law school, dental school, medical school, etc. can do it! I get sad and cry when my husband leaves for a couple of days. I can't imagine months or years, or even having him in town, but busy with school so I wouldn't get to see him practically until the weekend. I have a great respect for all of you mothers out there who are practically single moms for most of the time while you support your husbands in their careers and schooling. I really appreciate and need the help I get from Jeff when he comes home from work until all the kids are in bed so we can have some time together. My hat goes off to all of you. Especially those of you who are in this situation and have no family around to help out. You all know who you are.

Twinsies

Every parent worries about sibling rivalry. It's only natural that I would worry that Sarah may not like Audrey encroaching on her space and taking precious attention away from her. Well, this picture speaks for itself. Sarah and Audrey are twinsies. Sarah even picked out Audrey's jammies to match her own. On this particular occasion, Sarah was watching Jeff play a video game and she asked if she could "sit with Audrey" while they both watched. Of course I said it was okay. I then proceeded to get the camera off of the piano and take a couple of pictures. After about three of them, Sarah said, "Okay, mom. Only two more." She was referring to the pictures. And she politely posed for each of the last two pictures, and when the second shot was snapped, she said, "That's all, mom. You can put the camera away now." She was very articulate about it and knew exactly what she wanted. She's a very cute and loving "big sister."

Fun In the Snow

A nice thing about Utah is the snow. For a three year old who has spent her whole life so far in sunny Arizona, snow is very exciting and new. We like to take Sarah out to play in the snow in our front yard. This day was the first time Sarah had heard anything about snow angels. She was so excited to get up and see the angel lying in the snow after she had been there. Ahh to be a kid again...

Alex and Lucas are still not quite sure what to think about all this white stuff. It's cold!

"Okay, Papa. Just one more picture... But then it's time to go inside. It's cold out here!"

Sarah's first snowman! She named him Frosty. I know, it's small, but it was still snowing when we made it, and I only had the cloth gloves at the time so my hands were getting dang cold!

You'd think a dog would get tired of going out in a yard that looks like this every time he had to relieve himself... Not this dog. Cosmoe LOVES to go outside. Sometimes he will even run back down the stairs when we come near the door because he thinks we're going to make him come inside. Every time he goes out, he immediately starts eating the snow. Cute.

Christmas 2007

Christmas 2007 found us in Washington celebrating with family and having a wonderful holiday. We got to visit with my family in Bonney Lake and Buckley for most of the week, and we got to see Pam and Sean's family twice. We even got to go to the Seattle Children's Museum on the Saturday after Christmas. Sarah really enjoyed visiting with Casey and playing with all her ponies and other toys at her house. Last week she had a playdate with our neighbor's daughter and as we were walking home she said, "next time we should go to Casey's house." She really had fun with her. We also got to see Kit and his wife Jenny while we were there. We did a lot of sightseeing, and catching up with family and old friends. I really like Washington and wouldn't mind moving back there someday. Here's a sample of our fun trip.

This is a picture of Sarah I submitted to a toddler photo contest on the "What to Expect" website. Hers was one of 5 selected out of hundreds of submissions to be voted on. The category of the contest was "Fun With Toddlers." Congratulations Sarah! You're definitely a cutie!

Audrey Lynae Farnsworth was born on August 9, 2007 at 7:15am. Happy Birthday Audrey! She came on her parents' 5-year anniversary. They were happy to celebrate with the addition of their second little girl. She weighed in at 7lbs, 11 1/2oz and 20 1/2 inches long. Welcome Audrey!
